Curriculum Sharing

  • Building Friendships

Since the start of this competition, we have never won a match but through this competition we were able to make new friends from other places and have made stronger friendships within our team. It doesn't matter if we win or lose as we all still had fun. I also hope that through this competition pre-believers will come to know God through the sharings.

  • The One Who Will Be There For Me

In the first curriculum of this Crossroad league, we have learnt that everybody would have faced one of the darkest time in their lives, be it failing your studies, or breaking up with your girlfriend. This is a story of my darkest time in my life. It was when my grandpa passed away last November.

  • Passing on the Blessings

Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times. “Therefore the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his servants.

  • God Wants To Heal You

Throughout my time as an athlete, I've seen people getting injuries during the course of their game, mostly ankle sprain in the game of basketball. Personally, I'm very thankful that not even once did I sprain my ankle or suffer any physical injuries to the extent that I had to stop playing. For those who are familiar with the bible will know that there are many instances of miracle healing in the past compared to the present where we rarely see miracle healing.

  • Planning to Win

In preparations for a basketball match, coaches and players would have a plan to compete with opponents based on their strengths and weakness. Teams plan out a game plan to achieve a certain goal which in our case, we practices set pieces, we train on our ball handling, shooting, chemistry and etc. However, in a game, unforeseen circumstances can still happen which causes the plan not to go smoothly.

Game Sharing

  • Win or Lose, We Praise God

Since we started playing against other teams, we have never won one game. We only came close but still lost. But we still had fun.

  • Don't Stop Shooting

Being the coach of team ASC is a daunting task. Undoubtedly, it is an absolute privilege and honor to coach a team filled with talent and passion. However, having the pressure of coaching this group of individuals to come together as a team is a challenging task.

  • Encouragement From Team

As this was only my second competitive game with Kairos, I still had the nerves going into the game. However, as the warm-ups went on, I felt more at ease as I knew I had the support from my other teammates who were all also longing to get our first victory! Throughout the course of the game, it was a great experience and bonding time with this team as I only recently joined.

  • A Game of Nerves

The game against ASC was a tough one. It was not as we expected. It was a tight game.

  • Many Players, One Team

1 Corinthians 12:12-26 The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body-whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free-and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

God Wants To Heal You

Throughout my time as an athlete, I've seen people getting injuries during the course of their game, mostly ankle sprain in the game of basketball. Personally, I'm very thankful that not even once did I sprain my ankle or suffer any physical injuries to the extent that I had to stop playing.

For those who are familiar with the bible will know that there are many instances of miracle healing in the past compared to the present where we rarely see miracle healing. I do believe that God has his plan to heal us even in the present and it exist in the form of medical science. One point i wish to bring across is that God's healing is not always just about healing us physically, God wants to heal us emotionally as well.

This became especially clear to me at the start of this year. I failed 2 of my modules last semester and as a results I had to 'da bao' them, adding on 4 new modules which I am required to clear. Hoping not to repeat the same mistake, I literally studied like never before. Not because I had to clear 6 modules but because of the fact that I have never put in as much effort in studying as I did now. As a result, with 2 months left till exam, I just felt that my mind was already full but with plenty more to cover, I'm bound to flunk my exam. It was when I was feeling so down and out when a verse which I've seen throughtout my 4 years in secondary came to my mind.

Isaiah 40:31 'But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.'

This verse that was printed on the wall of my school hall reminded me that as long as I trust in the Lord, no matter how tough I'm pushing myself, be it walking, running or soaring high on wings, I will find new strength in Him.

Therefore to conclude, I just have 3 points to say where we have a part to play and that is to Believe, Release and Receive.

BELIEVE:
Trust that God’s Word is true and He wants to completely heal you of all your hurts.

RELEASE:
Give your hurts to God and leave them in His hands . We can’t receive healing if we’re still holding on to those past hurts or living with unforgiveness in our hearts.

RECEIVE:
Walk in your healing . Live differently than before . Trust that God has really taken those hurts away and has given you the opportunity for a renewed life.
