Planning to Win
In preparations for a basketball match, coaches and players would have a plan to compete with opponents based on their strengths and weakness. Teams plan out a game plan to achieve a certain goal which in our case, we practices set pieces, we train on our ball handling, shooting, chemistry and etc. However, in a game, unforeseen circumstances can still happen which causes the plan not to go smoothly. Injuries, opponent counter strategies or team mates fumbles and the uncertainty of making that basket can cause us the match. Supposedly the game plan is to allow us to win, to succeed in the game but when we lost the game, how do we comprehend that?
Now compare this to my life, I planned to be a successful designer and did research to be as specific as I can in order for me to achieve what I want to be, a footwear designer. I look into schools that I can go and the working experiences from schools internship and self-initiated. But I have learnt throughout the years that as much as I can plan, they may not be the best for me. Eg. I planned to study animation after I completed my O levels, but ended up in Product design. I planned to get into the desired companies for internship but ended up in a different type of design company. I learnt that it is because God already had a plan for me. My plans are not the best but certainly His plans are because God knows me the best. And God's first step of the plan is always wanting me to know Him, to have a relationship with Him. The bible tells me that I can only have a relationship with God through Jesus and this relationship is given to use, waiting for us to see it and accept it.
Having say that, I am still planning on what to do with my life, however when I do not get want I planned, I do not get very disappointed because I know God has a plan for me, a much better life plan than mine.
Matt 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Seek first the relationship with God and all the good and right things from God will be given.
